Safeguarding

Safeguarding in the British Province of the Society of African Missions (SMA)

The Society of African Missions (SMA) is committed to the promotion and protection of authentic human values which are an integral part of the proclamation of the Gospel. This commitment informs and shapes these safeguarding guidelines.

The Kingdom of God is at the heart of the teaching of Jesus Christ. For Him, the child is the great example of how we approach and accept the kingdom: “whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it” (Lk 18:17) SMA Rome Bulletin 136

The British Province of the SMA fully subscribes to and complies with the Safeguarding policies of both the Catholic Church in England & Wales and the Catholic Church in Scotland, both of which comply with local civil laws.
